South Carolina’s Isle of Palms has become one of the state’s premier vacation spots. But what’s a vacation without getting out on the water? The beautiful Isle of Palms Marina is a perfect place to depart from and explore the beautiful Isle of Palms waterways. More importantly, Isle of Palms has a ton of great fishing spots for you and your family to experience. When you really want a fishing trip to remember, you’ll likely need a little help finding the right spots and setting the best lines. That’s where we come in.
RedFin Charters: What We Do
At RedFin charters we are dedicated to providing you and your family with the best possible fishing experience. Our expert captains have lived and breathed South Carolina waters for over 20 years, so they know the changing waters, migration patterns, and locations for catching Redfish, Speckled Sea Trout, and Flounder. When you ride with us you won’t have to sweat the small stuff, as our captains will rig your lines, bait your hooks, and will even provide all the rods, reels, and tackle.
Different Services Provided
Inshore Fishing Charters– Our specialty charter is inshore fishing. We love fishing in the bays, inlets, marinas, tidal creeks, marshes, and estuaries of South Carolina. The Isle of Palms has a ton of great spots to catch redfish, spotted trout, sharks, lady fish, and black drums. These charters are perfect for families looking to avoid the rough currents and winds you might find farther out in the ocean. As an added bonus you’ll often have a chance to see otters, manatees, dolphins, or sea turtles on our inshore trips.
Fly Fishing Charters– Our captains also often take our clients fly fishing in the Isle of Palms Marina. We provide all the necessary equipment and take you straight to the fish. We even have a Hell’s Bay Waterman 18 boat to avoid disturbing the fish and give you a better chance of getting some great catches. These are just some of the fish we target when fly fishing:
-
Redfish
-
Speckled Trout
-
Black Drum
-
Sheepshead
-
Jack Crevalle
-
Spanish Mackerel
-
Lady Fish
-
Tarpon
-
Cobia
-
Amberjack
-
Triple tail
-
False albacore
Nearshore Fishing Charters– If you’re feeling a little more adventurous and want to fish out near shipwrecks and artificial reefs, our nearshore charter is perfect for you. We are well versed in bottom fishing, jigging, and trolling, so we can accommodate our clients with any fishing style preference. We can even take you out beyond the view of the shore if you prefer. On our nearshore charters we often hook Spanish Mackerel, Cobia, Sharks, Spadefish, Bull Redfish, and sometimes the Tarpon.
Group and Bachelor Party Charters– Over the years we’ve served groups ranging from up to 80 people and can take 2-boat to 20-boat trips when necessary. Our boats are equipped with an ice cooler for drinks and cooling towels to keep everyone cool on hot summer days. For those looking for luxury we even have humidors with some of the finest imported cigars around. We also put on fun fishing tournaments for those looking for a little friendly competition with prizes for the biggest catch, redfin with the most spots, and team with the most catches.
Shark Fishing Charters– For those looking for an adrenaline rush, our shark fishing might be just the thing you’re looking for. We target Bonnet Head, Atlantic Sharpnose, Black Tips, Bull, or Tiger sharks. You never really know what you’re going to catch when you get out there, as we’ve caught sharks anywhere from 10 to 250 pounds (and even some that are 10 feet long!). We offer 2, 4, 6, or 8 hour trips (although if you want to target the big ones we recommend at least a 4 hour trip (as they can take up to an hour to land).
Customizable Cruises– Not a fishing person? No problem! We also can take you on customizable adventures that show you all the great things Isle of Palms has to offer. We can cruise the beautiful Isle of Palms waterways, see historic shipwrecks off of the coast, search for dolphins out on the water, or go picking seashells and shark’s teeth on the shore. Our charters aren’t only for fishing, and anytime you ride with you are guaranteed to make memories that will last a lifetime.

“Great trip! Inshore was perfect for our 6 year old’s first time fishing in salt water. Boat was perfect size, nice tackle, comfortable ride. Captain Ethan found us some nice reds and a few bay sharks. Next time we’re down this way will definitely be calling RedFin again.”
-Susi Sadowski
“I am a travel agent and deal with many fishing charter companies around the world. Joel is by far the best captain / owner in the industry. He gave me tons of information and recommendations to make this corporate fishing outing fun for my clients. They were very appreciative for what his team did for them. You can’t go wrong with RedFin Charters! Thank you, Joel, and your team for making this possible. I can’t thank you enough!”
